Booking Conditions

  • Booking / Good Housekeeping Deposit
    For weekly and short break bookings a deposit of £100 per unit is payable on booking, (groups or 3 or more units - £200 per property) - Long term bookings by arrangement. The deposit secures your booking and is held as an inventory & cleaning deposit for the duration of your stay, and excepting cancellation will be repaid in full in the week following your departure, if no breakage or damage occurs, and your accommodation is left in a clean and tidy condition less any charges for cleaning, electricity (winter season - weekly bookings), grocery orders, milk or newspapers.

  • Letting Payments Full payment is due eight weeks prior to arrival. If you plan to take your holiday within eight weeks of your booking date, full payment including the Good Housekeeping Deposit must be made in full at the time of booking. We accept cheques, debit cards and credit cards ( payment by credit card is charged a 2% handling fee on the letting element of the booking).
  • Accommodation
    Accommodation is equipped as described on our website. Arrival time is from 4.00 pm (unless subject to an unavoidable delay). Departure time is by 10.00 am (except on Sundays in the winter season when it can be extended to 4.00 pm). All linen and towels are provided with beds ready made. On departure, we ask all guests to strip the beds, pack linen and towels into the supplied laundry bag, vacuum throughout, leave the bathroom, kitchen, and appliances clean, and empty all internal bins. Guests will be liable for any cleaning charges incurred in the event that any property is left in a dirty condition, or if occupants have been smoking inside the building.
  • Electricity
    Electricity is charged at cost for weekly lets in low season (November - March). The cost of electricity for these weeks is normally between £30.00 and £45.00 per week depending on usage, the type of Lodge and the ambient temperature.
  • Availability
    Whilst we will take all reasonable steps to ensure that the accommodation you have reserved is available on your arrival at Loch Monzievaird, no guarantee can be provided. Therefore, in the unlikely event that the accommodation or its facilities are damaged by fire, explosion, storm, flood, burst pipes, malicious damage or any other circumstances beyond our control, or if your booking was made prior to 31 October in the preceding year in one of our quarter ownership properties and the property was subsequently required by a quarter owner, we reserve the right to relocate you to another property of a similar size and quality to the one that you had booked originally. In the event that no other suitable accommodation can be provided, we will reimburse your rental in full and, if no reasonable notice of the unavailability of your original choice of accommodation was provided prior to the commencement of your journey, your reasonable travelling expenses.
  • Force Majeure
    We cannot accept responsibility or pay any compensation where the performance or prompt performance of our contract with you is prevented or affected by reason of circumstances amounting to force majeure. Circumstances amounting to force majeure include any event which we could not, even with all due care have foreseen or avoided. Such circumstances include the destruction of or damage to the property (which cannot reasonably be remedied to a satisfactory standard before the start of your holiday) through fire, flood, explosion, storm or other weather damage, break-in, criminal damage or any similar event beyond our control. Such circumstances also include riots or civil strife, industrial action, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions, war or threat of war, actual or threatened terrorist activity and all similar situations beyond our control.
  • Smoking
    Smoking is strictly prohibited in all of our accommodation. Most lodges have covered balconies which are designated as smoking areas. Removal of smoke odours in buildings is extremely difficult. Accordingly, charges will be taken from deposits if it is found that smoking has been allowed.
  • Pets
    We welcome dogs at Loch Monzievaird. The local area offers a wide variety of walks that we are sure you and your dog will enjoy. For advice on local walks please ask at Reception. We want to ensure that both you and your dog enjoy your stay with us and hope that the following information and guidelines will prove helpful. The walk around the loch is about a mile and a half. There is a track opposite our drive entrance which links into the Crieff path network and miles of lovely walks.

    Outside
    If your dog does not walk to heel or is likely to run off, it should be on a lead in the immediate grounds (35 acres). Some people are not as used to dogs as others, young children in particular can be very frightened by dogs running up to them however harmless the intention. Please be aware that there are farm animals in the surrounding fields. Please do not allow your dog to foul the areas in the immediate vicinity of your accommodation. Dog waste must be collected.

    Inside the properties
    Dogs must never be left unattended in your accommodation unless caged. Dogs must never be allowed into bedrooms or on to any furniture. Please bring your own dog towels and bedding. On departure we ask all clients to make an extra effort to air the property and to vacuum dog hairs.

    We reserve the right to request that owners remove any dog from the premises at any time during their stay, in particular if a dog has deemed to be a nuisance to other guests or staff or has caused any damage to property. We further reserve the right to make an additional charge to dog owners for any cleaning or repair that is deemed beyond normal wear and tear.

    The charges for dogs at Loch Monzievaird are: For stays of less than one week dogs are charged at £5.00 per dog per night. For stays of 7 nights or more dogs are charged at £20.00 per dog per week.

  • Safety
    Whilst we have attempted to make Loch Monzievaird as safe as possible, there are natural hazards associated with a rugged Highland location such as this. Responsibility for your well being (and that of any of your children or pets) lies with you.
  • Weather
    At times of adverse weather, notably snow, the main A85 is well maintained. We aim to keep our entrance road and the main access tracks clear, but at rare times of heavy snow, direct to-the-door access to all of our accommodation may not be possible. Where there are travel disruptions as a result of bad weather or fuel shortages, Loch Monzievaird cannot be held responsible for non-arrival.
  • Your Booking
    Your booking is not concluded until you have received an official booking confirmation from us. Your booking is limited to the persons named on your booking form. Casual overnight guests are not permitted unless agreed in advance with us.
  • Cancellation
    If after payment of your letting fees you are forced to cancel, you will forfeit your booking deposit and letting fees. We cannot be expected to simply move a booking to another more convenient time. We will however at your request attempt to re-let the property even at short notice and where we are successful we will refund whatever letting fees we have managed to reclaim less a fixed charge of 25%. The decision of Loch Monzievaird on all claims will be final.
  • Additional Visitors
    It is natural for you to want people you know who live locally to visit you while you are here. Please inform us if you are planning to have any gathering here during your stay. Our insurance does not cover for events in excess of the number of people on your booking form. Large gatherings whether during the day or the evening are not always suitable and not always permitted.
  • Damage, Loss and Nuisance
    We reserve the right to refuse admission to any or all guests for any just reason. Similarly, we reserve the right to evict offensive persons or pets. No refunds will be made. The hirer agrees to pay for any damage or loss, excluding reasonable wear and tear, incurred during their occupation. We reserve the right to make charges against deposits, credit cards or to invoice for damages.
  • Vehicles
    Cars, vans, bicycles, trailers and their accessories and contents are left entirely at their owners' risk. We will not be responsible for any loss or damage thereof or thereto from any cause whatsoever. We do not permit large camper vehicles or caravan's.

    All prices are inclusive of VAT at the prevailing rate.
